      End conditions for equally spaced nodes on \([a,b]!(x_ 0=a,x_ n=b)\) are generated by using the formulae corresponding to the derivatives of a class of piecewise cubic interpolatory polynomial approximations defined near the endpoint. This class of approximations are called the X-splines and are discussed by \textit{G. Behforooz}, \textit{N. Papamichael} and \textit{A. J. Worsey} [J. Inst. Math. Appl. 25, 53-65 (1980; Zbl 0466.41004)]. Another approach is that of \textit{G. Behforooz} [Appl. Math. Comput. 29, 231-244 (1989; Zbl 0671.41004)] who has obtained a class of conditions through integration.
