A triple \((\mathfrak s,j,\omega)\) is said to be a normal \(j\)-algebra if \(\mathfrak s\) is a split solvable Lie algebra, \(j\) is an almost complex structure satisfying the integrability condition \(j[x,y]=[jx,y]+[x,jy]+j[jx,jy]\) and \(\omega\) is a linear form on \(\mathfrak s\) such that \(<x,y>=\omega [jx,y]\) is symmetric, positive definite and j-invariant. Such algebras are said to be irreducible if they cannot be decomposed into a sum of \(j\)-invariant ideals. The main purpose of this note is to describe the pairs \((j,\omega)\) on a given split solvable Lie algebra \(\mathfrak s\). It is proved that if \((\mathfrak s,j,\omega)\) is irreducible, then any other triple \((\mathfrak s,\tilde{j},{\tilde \omega})\) is isomorphic to \((\mathfrak s,j,\omega)\) up to conjugation. Furthermore, a one-to-one correspondence between equivalence classes of \((\mathfrak s,j,\omega)\) on an irreducible normal \(j\)-algebra \(\mathfrak s\), and a quotient space of \((\mathbb R^+)^ r\), where \(r\) is the codimension of \([\mathfrak s,\mathfrak s]\), is established.
