Coefficients of singularities and mixed methods for the mixed Dirichlet- Neumann problem for the Stokes operator on a polygon (Q805196)

The authors consider the stationary Stokes problem under mixed Dirichlet- Neumann boundary conditions in a (possibly nonconvex) polygonal domain. They derive explicit formulae for the coefficients appearing in the singular decomposition of the solution. Using these formulae, the classical finite element method is modified in such a way as to give better numerical approximations for the solution and these coefficients. Explicit estimates for the order of convergence are established.
