A group G is called q-perfect, where q is a nonnegative integer, if G is generated by its commutator subgroup [G,G] and the elements of the forms \(g^ q\) for all \(g\in G\). The main result (obtained by using the technique developed by \textit{G. J. Ellis} and \textit{C. Rodriguez-Fernandez} [Cah. Topologie Géom. Différ. Catégoriques 30, 339-343 (1989; Zbl 0709.20028)]) is: If G is a q-perfect group, then universal q-central extensions of G are isomorphic to the sequence \(1\to H_ 2(G,{\mathbb{Z}}_ q)\to G\Delta^ qG\to^{\partial}G\to 1\).
