Given an operator \(T=N\oplus W\) on a separable Hilbert space H, with W a weighted shift and N a normal operator with \(\sigma\) (W)\(\subset \sigma (N)\), it is characterized when T is quasidiagonal. This result is used to produce, for every \(n\geq 1\), an example of a biquasitriangular operator \(T_ n\) such that \(T^ k_ n\) is quasidiagonal if and only if n divides k.
