Let \(\mathbb{C}^n\) be the complex \(n\)-space with symplectic form \(\omega (\xi,\eta)= \Im\sum \xi_ k{\bar \eta}_k\), and let \(D(n)\) be the group of all symplectic diffeomorphisms \(\mathbb{C}^n\to \mathbb{C}^n\). A symplectic capacity of \(\mathbb{C}^n\) is a function \(c\) which associates with each subset \(S\) of \(\mathbb{C}^n\) a value \(c(S)\) \(\le [0,\infty]\) where \(c\) is monotone, invariant with respect to \(D(n)\) and satisfies besides two further conditions \(c(\{\xi \in\mathbb{C}^n\); \(| \xi_1| \le 1)<\infty\). (This, for \(n\ge 2\), distinguishes \(c\) from a \(2n\)-dimensional measure.) Here in addition to a capacity \(c_1\) as defined by the authors in a previous paper [Math. Z. 200, No. 3, 355--378 (1988; Zbl 0641.53035)] a whole sequence \(c_2,c_3,\ldots\) of new capacities is constructed, and it is proved, that representations of \(c_k(S)\) for certain sets \(S\) which were already known for \(k=1\) hold for all \(k\). This allows to calculate \(c_j(E)\) of ellipsoids \(E\) in \(\mathbb{C}^n\) and of \[D(r_1,\ldots,r_n)= \{(\xi_1,\ldots,\xi_n)\in\mathbb{C}^n;\quad | \xi_i| \le r_i\}.\] Consequently the existence of a symplectic embedding of \(D(r_1,\ldots,r_n)\) in the ball \(B^{2n}(r)\) with radius \(r\) implies \(r\ge \sqrt{n}\inf r_i\). [Part I, cf. Sémin. Equations Dériv. Partielles 1987--1988, Exp. No. 23, 4 p. (1988; Zbl 0668.58016) and loc. cit.]
