An extension of the Ohta-Kimura stepwise-mutation model is considered as a model for the evolution of certain characteristics of individuals belonging to several interacting populations with slightly overlapping territories. When the population size n increases to infinity, evolution is speeded up by factor of \(n^ 2\), the incremental effects of a change in each population's distribution of characteristics are scaled down by a factor \(n^{-1/2}\) and the level of interaction is decreased by a factor \(n^{-1}\), measure-valued limits (interacting Fleming-Viot processes) are obtained and characterized as unique solutions to certain martingale problems using the method of duality. Finally, a scaling theorem for these processes is proven.
