A class of rapidly convergent numerical schemes to solve the Sharpe-Lotka model equation from age-dependent population dynamics is presented. This work is based on spline approximation techniques described by \textit{H. T. Banks} and \textit{F. Kappel} [Semigroup Forum 38, No.2, 141-155 (1989; Zbl 0687.47033)] for functional differential equations.
