It is shown that every pivotal measure in a majorized statistical experiment is expressed as the sum of pivotal measures in the dominated subexperiments which are generated by a maximal decomposition. This result is a measure theoretic version of a functional analytic characterization of pivotal measures due to \textit{H. Luschgy}, \textit{D. Mussmann} and \textit{S. Yamada} [ibid. 25, No.4, 795-803 (1988; Zbl 0731.62030)].
