Studying the existence of periodic solution of the equation \(dx(t)/dt=- f[x(t),x(t-1)],\) we obtain a result which generalizes a result of \textit{J. L. Kaplan} and \textit{J. A. Yorke} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 48, 317-324 (1974; Zbl 0293.34102)].
