Let \(E=\{p,q\}\), where p,q\(\in {\mathbb{C}}\), \(p\neq q\), and let \({\mathcal F}_ E\) be the family of continued fractions \[ ^{\infty}_{n=1}\frac{a_ n}{1}=\frac{a_ 1}{1}\begin{matrix} \quad \\ +\end{matrix} \frac{a_ 2}{1}\begin{matrix} \quad \\ +...+\end{matrix} \frac{a_ n}{1}\begin{matrix} \quad \\ +...\end{matrix}, \] where \(a_ n\in E\) for all n. The topic of the paper is a discussion of the set of values of the continued fractions in a given family \({\mathcal F}_ E\), where \(\{\) p,q\(\}\) is assumed to be a convergence set. Two types of problems are dealt with: (1) For ``small'' \(| q-p|\) the actual shape of the set of values is determined, except for a remainder term of order \(O(| q-p|^ 2),\) under some additional conditions. In some cases it has a fractal structure. (2) For some cases of real p,q with a given probability distribution the probability distribution of the values is determined.
