This article is part of a program developed by the author for a systematic study of real closed spaces, an abstract generalization of semi-algebraic spaces. The main interest of open morphisms is that they imply some regularity property in the behaviour of the fibers with respect to natural geometric information such as the dimension and the number of connected components.
