The author proves that a mapping D of a ring R satisfying \(D(xy)=xD(y)+D(x)y\) for all x,y\(\in R\) must be additive, so a derivation of R, whenever there is \(e=e^ 2\in R-\{0,1\}\) so that for any \(x\in R:\) (1) \(xR=0\) implies that \(x=0\); (2) \(eRx=0\) implies that \(x=0\); and (3) \(exeR(1-e)=0\) implies that \(exe=0\).
