The paper concerns the nonlinear elliptic PDE: (1) \(F(x,u,Du,D^ 2u)=0\) (in \(\Omega\)) with the nonlinear oblique derivative boundary condition: (2) \(B(x,u,Du)=0\) (on \(\partial \Omega)\), where B satisfies \(<n(x),B_ p(x,r,p)>>0\). The function F is assumed to satisfy the condition: (3) F(x,r,p,X)\(\leq F(x,r,p,Y)\) for any matrices X,Y such that \(X\geq Y\). The strong degeneracy of the elliptic condition (3) allows (1) to include a large class of PDE's, so, problem (1)-(2) may not have a classical solution in general. The author adopts the notion of viscosity solution. Note also that the function B(x,r,p) is quite general and nonlinear even in the variable p. Under suitable conditions on F and B the author proves existence and uniqueness of a solution to problem (1)-(2).
