A description of a representation of a Lie algebra can be performed in various ways: by an explicit realization (by matrices or differential operators); by description of the space of representation as the space of tensors of certain kind, etc. One of the realization of highest weight modules over a simple complex Lie algebra \({\mathfrak g}\) (of affine Kac- Moody type) is that in cohomology of invertible sheaves on an analogue of the Grassmann or flag variety G/B or G/P, where \({\mathfrak g}=Lie G\), B a Borel subgroup and P a parabolic subgroup of G. In the paper under review the above construction is performed for simple matrix Lie superalgebras and for simple Lie superalgebras with Cartan matrix in the case when the superalgebra is of finite dimension. The construction involves a beautiful analogue of the Weyl group, in particular, odd reflections and is extremely interesting for the periplectic series (in the paper denoted by P). The fact that theorem 2 needs to be corrected (this is done in the author and \textit{V. Serganova}, Ann. Inst. Fourier, 39, No.4, 845-873 (1989; Zbl 0667.14023), Theorem 4]) does not spoil the general impression of this thorough and user-friendly review of the best results in the field.
