High order nonlinear parabolic equations (Q810746)

The paper is devoted to the exposition of theorems on solvability of boundary value problems for quasilinear and nonlinear Petrovskii parabolic equations in divergence and nondivergence structure. Chapter 1 is devoted to the exposition of the methods of monotonicity and compactness to study the boundary value problems for quasilinear parabolic equations in divergence form in the Sobolev spaces \(W_ p^ m(G)\) and in the case of the non-polynomial type nonlinearities in Sobolev-Orlicz spaces. Then theorems on regularity of the generalized solutions are discussed. Results on quasilinear systems of infinite order in divergence form and constructive methods to find the solutions are also stated. Degenerate parabolic equations with evident and nonevident degeneration of ``frontier layer'' type are especially considered. In Chapter 2 a review of results on nonlinear parabolic problems of general type and theorems on stability of stationary solutions of quasilinear autonomous parabolic problems are given.
