The existence and local behaviour of the quadratic function approximation (Q810785)

The paper is concerned with the properties of the quadratic Hermite- Padé approximation to a function which has a given power series expansion about the origin. It is shown that an analogue of the classical Padé result is true also in the quadratic case. Furthermore it is proved that almost any increasing sequence of Hermite-Padé forms yields a sequence of approximations with increasing order of accuracy.
