The author in this thesis paper on the coagulation-fragmentation problem presents certain results in terms of three theorems with proofs, remarks and examples concerning the non-density conserving solutions of equations of the type: \[ (\partial c/\partial t)(x,t)=1/2\int^{x}_{0}J(x- y,y,c(t))dy-\int^{\infty}_{0}J(x,y,c(t))dy, \] \(c(x,0)=c_ 0(x)\geq 0,\) where \(J(x,y,c(t))=K(x,y)c(x,t)c(y,t)-F(x,y)c(x+y,t).\) The first theorem refers to pure coagulation (F\(\equiv 0)\) and the second to pure fragmentation (K\(\equiv 0)\). The third theorem provides an asymptotic property for the general solution of the latter kind.
