The author considers a parametric eigenvalue problem of the form \(A(p)x=\lambda x\), \(x\neq 0\), where \(p\) ranges over an interval vector (box). For a given index \(i\), he looks for interval enclosures of the set of the \(i\)th eigenvalues and of the set of their corresponding normalized eigenvectors. He derives a system of quadratic equations from whose solution the enclosures wanted can be built, and proposes a three-stage method for solving this system by reducing it to a polynomial equation. The results are illustrated on a \(2\times 2\) example.
