The author studies the restricted convergence for a wide subclass of generalized order statistics (gos) introduced by \textit{U. Kamps} [A concept of generalized order statistics. (1995; Zbl 0851.62035)]. Note that the records model is excluded. He proves that if the distribution function (df) of a suitably normalized extreme gos converges on an interval \((c,d)\) to one of the possible limit df's of the extreme gos, then the (weak) convergence holds on the whole real line to the same limit df. There seems to be a misprint in the main results of the author (Theorem 2, formulas (8) and (9)). It should read \(\Phi_{n-r+1:n}^{(\widetilde{m},k)}\).
