The authors prove existence and uniqueness of global-in-time, mass preserving solutions for a class of Markovian master equations in Lindblad form, which model the dynamics of dissipative quantum mechanical systems with mean field interaction. In particular they consider a master-equation of the form \(d\rho/dt=-i[H,\rho]+A(\rho)\) where \(\rho\) is the density matrix of the quantum system under study. The Hamiltonian includes, besides a kinetic term and an external potential, a mean-field potential \(\phi(\rho)\) obtained from the Poisson equation \(\Delta\phi(\rho)=-n(\rho)\) where \(n(\rho)\) is the particle density; the mapping \(A\) is a dissipative term in Lindblad form given in terms of linear combinations of position and momentum operator (so-called quasifree quantum-dynamical semigroups, corresponding to a quantum Fokker-Planck). The authors thus establish the existence of a nonlinear conservative quantum dynamical semigroup.
