Let \(S\) be the class of functions analytic and univalent in the unit disk \(D\) and normalized by \(f'(0)- 1= f(0)= 0\). If \(f\) is a support point of \(S\) then \(\Gamma= C\setminus f(D)\) is an analytic arc which extends from a finite point to infinity with increasing modulus, [see \textit{A. Pfluger}, Ann. Acad. Sci. Fenn., Ser. A I 489, 32 p. (1971; Zbl 0225.30019)]. An open problem wheather the omitted arc \(\Gamma\) has monotonic argument is considered. A new methods of investigating the above problem is presented and some partial results are obtained.
