Let \((R, {\mathbf m})\) be a regular local ring of dimension two containing its residue field \(k\), which is assumed to be algebraically closed. The aim of this paper is to study analytical properties of a germ of curve given by the equation \(f=0\), where \(f\in \widehat R\simeq k[[x,y]]\). At first the authors recall different relations between, simple integrally closed ideals in \(R\), divisorial valuations on \(R\), analytical irreducible elements of \(R\) and the tree of the resolutions of singularities of the germ of curve given by the equation \(f=0\). Secondly they study fine properties of the divisorial valuations. The main result in this paper is: Theorem. Let \(\nu \) be a divisorial valuation on \(R\), then the associated graded ring to the valuation \(\nu \), can be described as a subring of a polynomial ring in two variables. They also describe an algorithm to compute a generating sequence for the semigroup associated to the valuation defined by \(f\). Finally they prove the following interesting result: Theorem. Let \(f,g\in k[[x,y, ]]\) such that \(f-g\in {\mathbf m}^{\tau +2}\), where \(\tau \) is the Tjurina number of \(f\), then \(f\) and \(g\) have the same tree of resolution of singularities.
