Let \(A\) and \(B\) be bounded subsets of the \(n\)-dimensional Euclidean space both of them with positive Lebesgue measure. The set \(A\) is said to be convexly majorized by \(B\) if the inequality \(v_A \leq v_B\) holds for every real continuous convex function \(v\) defined in the closed convex hull of \(A\cup B\). The authors prove that if \(A\) and \(B\) are star-shaped sets at \(0\) in the \(n\)-dimensional Euclidean space (\(n\geq 2\)) and if \(0\) is their common barycenter, then there is a positive number \(\kappa\) such that for every \(0<\lambda \leq \kappa\), the set \(\lambda A\) is convexly majorized by the set \(B\). They consider also the stronger assumptions of convexity and central symmetry. They prove that if \(A\) and \(B\) are compact symmetric and convex neighborhoods of \(0\), such that both of them have the same barycenter, then there is a positive constant \(\kappa_n\) which depends only on the dimension \(n\), such that if \(A \subset \kappa_n B\), then \(A\) is convexly majorized by \(B\). They provide also a lower bound for \(\kappa_n\). In particular they give an exponential upper bound for \(\frac 1{\kappa_n}\).
