The theme of this article is the dimension of spline spaces. For many cases, especially in two dimension, a variety of bounds (upper and lower) to the dimension of spline spaces over triangulations have been found. In this paper, the three-dimensional case is addressed, and there is a lower bound for the sought dimension for arbitrary tetrahedral partitions. Some special (local) dimension problems are studied too.
