Bivariate quartic spline spaces and quasi-interpolation operators (Q818263)

Dimension of the space of bivariate splines defined over cross-cut partitions with global smoothness, is known [see \textit{R. H. Wang}, Multivariate Spline Functions and their Applications. Mathematics and its Applications (Dordrecht). 529. Dordrecht: Kluwer Academic Publishers. Beijing: Science Press. (2001; Zbl 1002.41001)]. The authors study here bivariate quartic spline spaces over cross-cut partitions with smoothness of orders 3, 2 or 2, 3 on the rectangle or diagonal grid segments. Two classes of quasi-interpolation operators for these spaces have been introduced. Some properties of such operators have also been studied.
