Let \(f: (\mathbb{C}^{n+1},0)\to (\mathbb{C}, 0)\) be a complex analytic germ. If the polar curve \(\Gamma_f\) of \(f\) is irreducible, and the intersection number \((\Gamma_f, V(f))_0\) is prime, then the author obtains strong restriction on the degree \(n\)-cohomology of the Milnor fiber of \(f\).
