Various geometric structures can be built on the tangent bundle of a differentiable manifold. Two of these, each well known, are Finsler geometry and the geometry based on the definition of the Lie derivative. Both have some fundamental things to say about curves on the manifold, but are practically never considered in the same context. This paper has the possibility of provoking some fundamental progress in both areas of study. For example, it gives Finsler connections, torsions, and curvatures in terms of the Lie derivative. Some interesting invariances are derived on the manifold under affine and conformal transformations.
