Error estimation for mixed summation-integral type operators (Q819639)

The paper extends results obtained by \textit{H. M. Srivastava} and \textit{V. Gupta} [Math. Comput. Modelling 37, 1307--1315 (2003; Zbl 1058.41015)], where they generalized the Phillips operators and also the discretely Baskakov-Durrmeyer operators. The author studies the mixed summation-integral operators. The main result is contained in Theorem 3.1, which contains the order of approximation using linear combinations of mixed summation-integral operators in terms of higher order moduli of smoothness. For establishing the main result the Steklov mean is used.
