The authors attempt to develop the Fourier regularization method for solving an ill posed boundary value problem. They consider the problem of a heat conducting solid exposed to moving fluid and determine the heat flux on the surface from the available temperature data at a fixed location in the solid. There appear to be errors in writing the non-standard inverse heat conduction equation (1.2) and its simplification, Eq. (1.3). However, the paper can begin from Eq. (1.4), which is the simplified heat conduction equation of a moving solid. The authors impose an arbitrary condition \(p>1/2\) for the convergence of the surface heat flux without giving any physical significance of the term and estimate the bound of errors in terms of \(p\). The computational results establish that the errors are within the bound for the cases under consideration. The paper lacks clarity in formulation as well as the presentation of the results.
