In this paper, the author studies the cws-number of a topological space \(X\), where \(\text{cws}(X)\) is the minimal cardinality of a family of continuous weak selections that determine its topology, and he shows that \(\text{cws}(X)\leq2\) for every semi-orderable space \(X\), and that \(\text{cws}(X)=2\) precisely when such a space \(X\) has two components and is not orderable. The paper also shows that \(\text{cws}(X)=1\) for each suborderable metrizable space \(X\) which has at least 3 components. The main results are the following: \textbf{Theorem 1.} If \(X\) is a semi-orderable space, then \(\text{cws}(X)\leq2\). Moreover, \(\text{cws}(X)=2\) if and only if \(X\) is non-orderable and has at most 2 components. \textbf{Theorem 2.} For \(X\) a suborderable space, denote by \(\mathcal{C}[X]\) the natural closed partition of \(X\) into components; then \(\mathcal{C}[X]\) is a strongly zero-dimensional suborderable space and \(\mathcal{C}:X\rightarrow\mathcal{C}[X]\) is closed. Moreover, \(\mathcal{F}[X]\) is metrizable provided so is \(X\). \textbf{Theorem 3.} If \(X\) is a suborderable metrizable space which has infinitely many components, then \(\text{cws}(X)=2\).
