For a quadruple of points \(p\), \(q\), \(x\), \(y\) in a metric space \((X,d)\), one has two model triangles (that is, a plane triangle with the same sides) \([\tilde{pxy}]=\ \tilde{\triangle}(pxy)\) and \([\tilde{qxy}]=\ \tilde{\triangle}(qxy)\) with the common side \([\tilde{x}\tilde{y}]\). The quadruple satisfies the \((2+2)\)-comparison (called CAT(0) comparison by the authors) if \(d(p,q)\leq |\tilde{p} -\tilde{z}|+|\tilde{z}-\tilde{q}|\) holds for any point \(\tilde{z}\in[\tilde{x}\tilde{y}]\). \textit{T. Toyoda} showed that a 5-point metric space that satisfies CAT(0) comparison for any quadruple (and any of its relabeling) admits a distance-preserving inclusion into a length CAT(0) space \(X\) in [Anal. Geom. Metr. Spaces 8, 114--165 (2020; Zbl 1475.53048)]. In the article, the authors primarily give a shorter proof of Toyoda's theorem. They note that an analogue of Toyoda's theorem does not hold for 6-point sets. In the last part, they ask three questions as to whether some finite metric spaces can be distance-preserving embedded into spaces with nonnegative curvature in the sense of Alexandrov.
