The authors propose a family of effective equations for wave propagation in periodic media derived for arbitrary timescales. The main effort is paid on proving quantitative error (corrector) estimates for the homogenized tensor and other macroscopic quantities. In particular, they discover a relation between the correctors of arbitrary order, which allows to reduce the computational cost of the effective tensors.
