The author establishes cohomological finiteness results for the category \(\mathrm{rep} (D(G))\) of representations of the Drinfeld double \(D(G)\) of a finite group scheme \(G\) over a field \(k\). This completes earlier work of [\textit{E. Friedlander} and \textit{C. Negron}, Algebra Number Theory 12, No. 5, 1281--1309 (2018; Zbl 1477.20089)]. The category \(\mathrm{rep} (D(G))\) identifies with the Drinfeld centre \(Z (\mathrm{rep} (G))\) of the category of finite representations of \(G\); this is a finite \(k\)-linear tensor category. The main result establishes that \(Z (\mathrm{rep} (G))\) is of finite type and that its Krull dimension satisfies \[ \mathrm{Krull\ dim.\ } Z (\mathrm{rep} (G)) \leq \mathrm{Krull\ dim.\ } \mathrm{rep} (G) + \mathrm{embed.\ dim.\ } (G), \] where the embedding dimension of \(G\) is the minimal dimension of a smooth affine algebraic group in which \(G\) embeds as a closed subgroup. The author uses a form of equivariant deformation theory in which \(G\) is allowed to act non-trivially on the parametrizing space. The finite generation result is then proved using the cohomological finiteness results of [\textit{A. Touzé} and \textit{W. van der Kallen}, Duke Math. J. 151, No. 2, 251--278 (2010; Zbl 1196.20053)], extended to the appropriate derived setting.
