In this work, the authors study the existence and asymptotic stability of the positive periodic mild solutions for a first order nonlinear abstract evolution equation with delay in an ordered Banach space. The equation is governed by an abstract operator $-A$ that generates semigroup, a nonlinearity $F$, which is $\omega$-periodic in $t$, of Lipschitz type on the spatial variable, and finite time delays are considered. The main results are: Theorem 1.1 where under certain condition (H1) the existence of at least one $\omega$-periodic mild solutions of the model is shown. In Theorem 1.2 under the hypothesis (H2) it is proved that the solution of the equation is unique. Finally, in Theorem 1.3 under the condition (H3) it is concluded that that solution is globally asymptotically stable. The tools to prove the above theorems are based on positive semigroup theory, Leray-Schauder fixed point theorem and an integral inequality of Bellman.
