The authors use the Fourier transform to transform the acoustic wave equation into Helmholtz equation, and then reduce the problem to Volterra integral equation. An iterative procedure is used to obtain reflection and transmission coefficients of an obliquely incident plane wave with jump discontinuities due to material properties.
