The paper is the continuation of a preceding one [J. Math. Phys. 47, No. 1, 013511 (2006; Zbl 1111.82055)] in which they propose a new sound theoretical approach to the Faraday effect. The main result provides a thermodynamic limit for the transverse electric conductivity of Bloch electrons together with the Verdet constant. One is so dealing with a quantum physical variable and the theory so works via the corresponding quantum operator combined with a regularized magnetic perturbation theory. The proof is lengthy as a result of the singularities induced by the long range magnetic perturbation.
