Le \(k\) be an algebraically closed field of characteristic \(p > 2\) and suppose \(V\) is a finite dimensional vector space over \(k\) with a symmetric nondegenerate bilinear form. Then the group \(G = SO(V)\) acts naturally on \(V^{\oplus m}\) and hence also on the coordinate ring \(A_m = k[V^{\oplus m}]\). The main result in this paper says that the ring of invariants \(A_m^G\) is Frobenius split for all \(m \geq 1\). A similar result concerning the ring of invariants of \(SL(V)\) on the coordinate rings of \(V^{\oplus m} \oplus (V^*)^{\oplus n}\), \(m,n \geq\) \(\dim V\) is also proved.
