The fundamental and relevant ingredients of Nielsen theory for \(n\)-valued multifunctions were established by \textit{H. Schirmer} in [Fundam. Math. 121, 73--80 (1984; Zbl 0537.55005) and ibid. 124, 207--219 (1984; Zbl 0537.55006)]. Only more recently some calculations have been done, see \textit{R. Brown} [Bull. Pol. Acad. Sci., Math. 54, No.~2, 153--162 (2006; Zbl 1108.55003)]. The main purpose of the paper under review is to provide a type of addition formula for the Nielsen number of a map, which is desirable to perform further calculations. This formula is given by Theorem 4.1 for the case where the map \(f\) happens to be a fiber map of a fibration over the circle. Recall that such a type of formula relates the Nielsen number of the induced map on the base and the Nielsen numbers of the several maps which are the restrictions of \(f\) to the fibers over the fixed points of the base. In the first part of the paper the author shows the relevant technical ingredients for studying a fiber map. Then after the main result, specific calculations are made which illustrate the use of the additive formula. For the specific case of orientable fibrations over \(S^1\) an explicit and computable formula is provided in terms of the degree of the map on \(S^1\), the Nielsen number of the map restricted to a fiber and the greater common divisor of these 2 numbers. The paper is very well organized and the statements and proofs are carefully written. The contents of the paper suggest several natural questions similar to the ones treated there.
