The authors study the Einstein-Weyl equations for a \(3\)-dimensional Lorentzian space-time. They show that there is a natural one-to-one correspondence between smooth, conformally compact, space-time oriented, globally hyperbolic, Lorentzian Einstein-Weyl 3-manifolds \((M,[g],\nabla)\) and orientation-reversing diffeomorphisms \(\Psi:\mathbb C\mathbb P_ 1\to\mathbb C\mathbb P_ 1\) of the complex projective line.
