Nowadays the problem of solving a system of multivariate polynomials is still a subject of research. The question is not how we can compute the solution, in fact there are several ways to do it (Gröbner bases, characteristic set, resultant), now the question is, from a computational point of view, which is the best way to compute it? In this paper, the authors, show an interesting method to solve a system of multivariate polynomials. Using Sylvester resultants, algebraic sets are decomposed stratum by stratum into a union of sets. From each one is easier to obtain the initial algebraic set. Then this decomposition is applied to compute weak centers of cubic systems.
