Various notions expressing the smoothness of a function defined on a subset of a non-Archimedean field \(K\), with values in \(K\), were proposed and investigated by \textit{W. H. Schikhof} [Ultrametric calculus. An introduction to p-adic analysis. Cambridge University Press (1984; Zbl 0553.26006)]. The author considers functions of several variables and concentrates on smoothness properties of a function \(f:\;K^m\to K^l\) implied by certain properties of \(f\circ u\) assumed for any smooth curve \(u:\;K\to K^m\). As a pattern, he takes the results proved for functions on \(\mathbb R^m\) by \textit{J. Boman} [Math. Scand. 20, 249--268 (1967; Zbl 0182.38302)]. However many properties for the non-Archimedean case are different. The author also introduces a non-Archimedean analog of approximate differentiability with respect to a measure and proves several theorems resembling classical results from the book by \textit{H. Federer} [Geometric measure theory. Die Grundlehren der mathematischen Wissenschaften in Einzeldarstellungen. 153. Berlin-Heidelberg-New York: Springer-Verlag (1969; Zbl 0176.00801)].
