The authors characterize the structure and geometry of maximal sets of unbounded divergence and maximal sets of convergence almost everywhere of multiple Fourier series with a \(J_{k}\)-lacunary sequence of rectangular partial sums \(S_{n^{\left( \alpha \right) }\left[ J_{k}\right] }\left( x;f\right) \) for functions \(f\in L_{p}\left( T^{N}\right)\), \(p>1\), vanishing on \(U\) for a wide class of measurable sets \(U\subset T^{N},\) \( N\geq 3\) (with some restrictions on the boundary of \(U\)) and for any \( J_{k}\subset U,\) \(1\leq k\leq N-2\).
