Fluid model criterion for instability of re-entrant line with infinite supply of work (Q845570)

The paper establishes a sufficient condition for special re-entrant lines with infinite supply of work (described exactly in the paper) to be instable, and extends the earlier result in [\textit{J. G. Dai}, Ann. Appl. Probab. 6, No. 3, 751--757 (1996; Zbl 0860.60075)] where a similar sufficient condition for instability of standard re-entrant lines has been proved. The proofs of the author are similar to the earlier proofs given in the aforementioned paper that are based on the reduction of the proof of instability of an original model with multiple customer classes to that instability of the corresponding limiting fluid model. An example for instability of 2-station-5-class re-entrant line is given, where specific instability conditions are derived.
