For the linear system \(Mx=b\) with \(M=\left(\begin{smallmatrix} A&B\\ C&D\end{smallmatrix}\right)\) and \(A\) nonsingular, it is very important to investigate the distribution of the eigenvalues of the Schur complement \(D-I-CA^{-1}B\), where the iteration method will converge if and only if \(\rho (D-I-CA^{-1}B)<1\). The authors obtain some estimates for the \(\gamma\)-diagonally and product \(\gamma\)-diagonally dominant degree of the Schur complements of matrices. The results are applied to obtain some bounds for the eigenvalues of the Schur complements by the entries of the original matrix instead of those of the Schur complement. It is shown that the eigenvalues of the Schur complements are located in the Gershgorin circles of the original matrices under some conditions. In the first page, the authors give very short (nice) definitions for all notations to be used throughout the article.
