The author defines the Volterra composition operator as the usual composition operator \(C_\phi\), defined by \(C_\phi (f)=f\circ \phi\) (where \(\phi\) is an analytic self-map of the unit disk), followed by the Volterra type operator (or Riemann-Stieltjes operator) \(J_g\), defined by \[ J_g f(z) = \int_0^z f(\xi) g^\prime (\xi) \,d\xi; \] that is, \(J_{g,\phi} f= J_g (C_\phi (f))\). Volterra-type operators have been studied by Aleman, Cima, Siskakis, Xiao, and others. Composition operators have been studied in a variety of contexts since 1968 by a number of authors. This hybrid operator has been considered recently by \textit{S.-X. Li} [J. Korean Math. Soc. 45, No.~1, 229--248 (2008; Zbl 1151.47040)]. The author studies the action of such operators from a weighted Bergman spaces (with natural radial weights for which the quotient of the weight and a certain variation of it is uniformly bounded) into weighted Bloch spaces (with arbitrary positive, continuous, and bounded weights). She lists several natural examples of such weights. After establishing some necessary technical lemmas, she proves two main theorems. The first one (Theorem 3 in the paper) gives a necessary and sufficient condition for the boundedness of \(J_{g,\phi}\) and the second (Theorem 4) is essentially the corresponding ``little-oh'' condition for compactness.
