Stability of linear multistep methods for nonlinear neutral delay differential equations in Banach space (English)
The nonlinear stability of linear multistep methods applied to neutral delay differential equations in Banach space is analysed. Two approaches of numerically treating the neutral term are considered allowing for several results on the numerical stability. These results allow insight in the choice of the step size in the linear multistep method. Numerical experiments are described to confirm the theory.
