The paper considers a Hubbard-like model for a two-component polymer in the presence of strong electron-phonon interactions (the Su--Schrieffer--Heeger (SSH) model) and develops a mapping of that model into the integrable system of Manakov's equations with the self-repulsive nonlinearity. Then, the charge-density-wave soliton which may account for the conductivity in the polymer system, is represented by the dark soliton of the Manakov's system. The analysis predicts a decrease of the soliton's velocity with the increase of the strength of the electron-phonon interaction, as well as spin-charge conversion and some other effects, in terms of the underlying two-component SSH model.
