The authors use the finite difference method for solving the Poisson equation in an L-shape domain. They propose a scheme based on the non-overlapping domain decomposition method. The domain is decomposed into two rectangular sub-domains where they use the difference scheme in a fine mesh. Unlike the standard difference method, ones use a coarse mesh difference scheme at the mesh points from the interface of the two sub-domains. The authors derive error estimates and then discuss some iterative methods for the proposed scheme and derive an upper bound of the convergence rate. Numerical experiments are presented in the last section.
