Given a (complex) \(C^*\)-algebra \(A\) and an involutory *-antiautomorphism \(F\) of \(A\), it is clear that the space \(A(F) = (a: F(a)=a^*)\) forms a real \(C^*\)-algebra such that \(A=A(F)+iA(F)\). Conversely, any real \(C^*\)-algebra has the form \(A(F)\) for an appropriate involutory *-antiautomorphism \(F\) of its complexification \(A\). Thus the classification of real structures in \(C^*\)-algebras is reduced to the classification of complex \(C^*\)-algebras and to the study of properties of their involutory *-antiautomorphisms. In the present paper, the author considers a unital simple separable \(C^*\)-algebra \(A\) with tracial rank zero and with a unique tracial state. If \(F\) is an involutory *-antiautomorphism of \(A\), then it is clear that the associated real algebra \(A(F)\) is unital simple with a unique tracial state. The main purpose of the present paper is to show that \(A(F)\) also has tracial rank zero. The key step for this is to prove that \(F\) has the tracial Rokhlin property.
